Poetry Sundae !

Local Author,Poet and Musician, Peter Spafford, is hosting a poetry morning at Alfred bar. There will be 3 poets reading with space in between for open mic poets (first come, first served). We will (hopefully) be joined by Mr Whippy outside to cool us down in the heat of the May sunshine  so you can enjoy lots of ice cream as you listen to some brilliant poetry ! Tea and Coffee wll also be available, as well as a great selection of alcoholic beverages if you so wish !

Friends of Meanwood Park – Children’s Activities

Free craft activities – finding out about Hedgehogs, Snail Races.

Discover more about the Leeds City Council/MVP Heritage Project (Wilderness on Your Doorstep) and the work of the Friends of Meanwood Park  (FOMP).

Children 3-12 years accompanied by a parent or carer are warmly invited. Parents/carers responsible for children at all times. Max. 3 children per adult carer.

Songs and creative words by performers from the local Beck Arts Group and guests. Tea and cake available at the interval. A relaxing Sunday afternoon !

Choir concert  with ‘SingMeanwood!’ led by Liz Welburn

SingMeanwood are returning to this year’s Meanwood Festival for their fourth consecutive appearance. This popular acappella choir has developed an appreciative following with a reputation based around their diverse repertoire and carefully honed harmonies.

This year they will be performing in the newly refurbished Holy Trinity Community Hall under their new Musical Director, Liz Welburn, who has brought her own sense of dynamics and rhythm to their varied musical styles.
