About

The Meanwood Festival is a natural extension from the highly popular Annual Family Fun Day organised by the Meanwood Valley Partnership, a group of local residents who, working in partnership with Leeds City Council, local businesses and other groups, volunteer their time and skills to preserve, protect and enhance the Meanwood Valley area. Meanwood Festival 2018

Our fourth Festival will run from Saturday 19th May 2018 and conclude with the Annual Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May. The Festival is a great opportunity to showcase the diverse range of activities, community groups and businesses operating within the Meanwood area. Events will take place in different locations over the 10 day period, encompassing music, art, literature, heritage, drama, food and drink. It has become a firm favourite in the Meanwood calendar and the Fun Day is the largest event held in the area, enjoyed by an estimated 4000+ people last year.

Rounding off the Festival, the Annual Family Fun Day will be held on the cricket pitch on Parkside Road by the Myrtle Tavern. This year will be bigger and better than ever before with over 60 community and craft stalls, entertainment, displays, food from around the world and a host of children’s activities including sitting on a fire engine, play areas, circus skills and donkey rides. Our thanks go to the Meanwood Cricket Club for letting us host the event on their pitch and to the Myrtle Tavern for all their help too – it’s much appreciated.
