Meanwood Festival & Fun Day

Meanwood Festival & Fun Day

The first Meanwood Festival was held in 2014. Now a firm favourite in the Meanwood calendar it aims to inspire with a range of different activities in locations around Meanwood over a 10 day period every year in late May.

2017 Festival Organiser Chris Swales said “Once again this year we had something for people of all ages and interests. We showcased what the area has to offer in music, art, literature, drama, heritage, health, food and drink with 50 events in 20 locations. It finished with our Annual Family Fun Day, opened by the Lord Mayor. With 60 craft and community stalls, children’s activities, performers and displays it was enjoyed by an estimated 4000 people (despite the rain) and is probably the biggest event Meanwood has ever seen.”

We have been very fortunate to have great backing from local business sponsors; the Myrtle Tavern, Moores Estate Agents, Top Stitch, Moustache Barbers, the Bay Horse, Alan Cooke Estate Agents, Ace Cars, the Meanwood Park Cafe, RDF Builders, Alfred, East of Arcadia, Manning Stainton, QLM and Hana Matsuri. Thanks also go to the Community Committee for their support.

The 2017 Festival ran from Saturday 20th and finished with the Fun Day on Monday 29th May.

The 2018 Festival will run from Saturday 19th May and finish on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May, with the Fun Day.
