Friends of Meanwood Park

Friends of Meanwood Park

The Friends of Meanwood Park has recently been established to support the work of Leeds City Council Parks and Countryside Department in maintaining the quality of our lovely park for future generations.  By volunteering their time and skills, the group have the chance to contribute to a wonderful environment and to learn to about the plants and animals that make the park their home.

A grant of £1700 was awarded to the group by the Postcode Local Trust to be used to cover the costs of buying equipment and small tools, health and safety equipment and other expenses.

The group is led by one of the LCC Park Rangers, Steve Joule, who has known the Meanwood Valley for many years and who is a mine of information about its ecology. Regular sessions will get the group out in the fresh air to have a bit of fun and exercise in a lovely part of Leeds and tackle various jobs in the Park. Dates and times of future sessions will be advertised on our social media sites or tel: 07891 270855 for further details.

Funding from the Postcode Local Trust can be applied for through their website: www.postcodelocaltrust.org.uk
